Brown Mackie College — Akron to Hold Graduation Ceremony on June 6, Coughlin to speak

(Akron, OH – May 31, 2012) Brown Mackie College — Akron announces that the college will hold its Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday, June 6, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Akron Civic Center, located at 182 South Main Street. Graduates of college will be awarded associate degrees and diplomas.

The event’s speaker is Kevin Coughlin, former Ohio Senator and owner of Lexington Companies, a firm that provides strategic counsel and management services to a variety of corporate and non-profit clients.

As a member of the Ohio Senate, Mr. Coughlin represented Summit County from 2001-2011. He also served in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1997-2001. During his 14 years in the Ohio General Assembly, he developed a reputation as a thoughtful and fair-minded legislator, earning respect on both sides of the aisle. He gained expertise in health, energy, higher education and fiscal policy. For six years, he was chairman of the Senate Health, Human Services & Aging Committee. He also served stints as chairman of the House Finance & Appropriations Higher Education Subcommittee and the Senate State & Local Governments & Veterans Affairs Committee. Barred from running again by term limits, Mr. Coughlin left the Ohio Senate in 2011.
